Digital Transformation in Judicial System: Government & Daffodil Are Introducing the Court Automation Platform

Bangladesh is entering a new chapter in the digital transformation of its judicial system. The Government is officially inaugurating the country’s first e-Family Court operations today at the Jagannath–Sohel Memorial Auditorium of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court building. As the principal technological collaborator, the Center for Software Development & Emerging Tech of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Daffodil International University (DIU), together with Daffodil Software Ltd. (DSL), is developing and delivering the nation’s first fully integrated Digital Court Management and Case Automation Solution.

The newly announced e-Family Court platform is live from 24 November 2025 at Dhaka Family Court–5 and will be live from 30 November 2025 at Chattogram Family Court–1. Through this platform, court users are getting access to online case filing, digital documentation, and on a limited scale online hearings. This system is creating a faster, cost-efficient and more citizen-friendly judicial service while reducing time, hassle and travel burdens for litigants.

Distinguished guests attending the inauguration are Prof. Dr. Asif Nazrul, Adviser, Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Mr. Faez Ahmed Taiyyeb, Special Assistant to the Honorable Chief Adviser (ICT); Dr. Md. Dr. Asif Nazrul stated, “We will set the foundation for the e-Judiciary and e-Registration projects. Through technology, lawyers will be able to provide enhanced services, and the reform process will continue.”

Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, praised the paperless system for its positive environmental impact.

Fayez Ahmed Tayyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser (ICT), noted that the initiative will significantly enhance the professional efficiency of lawyers.

DIU Founder and Chairman Dr. Md. Sabur Khan is acknowledging the initiative as a national model of innovation-driven public service, saying:“The commitment we are continuing to uphold using technology and innovation for national development is becoming evident once again. Universities must remain actively involved in solving real public service challenges. The e-Family Court and automation solution are proving how academic expertise and government priorities together are creating transformative, scalable and sustainable national impact.”

He further adds that the youth of Bangladesh especially university students are capable of solving many national problems through innovation, technology and social initiatives.
“If we can clean the Turag River, then we can guide Dhaka toward becoming a modern, smart and environmentally city like Hong Kong. With the right engagement, youth will remain at the center of transforming Dhaka into a well-planned, technology-enabled metropolitan model,” he says.

Key Technological Features of the e-Family Court Platform

The new automation and e-Court system is offering the following advancements for litigants and lawyers:

· 24/7 Online Registration: Citizens are getting round-the-clock access to case registration and online scheduling.

· Judicial Services from Home: Case filing and fee payment are being completed online, reducing hassle, travel time and cost.

· Transparency & Reduced Corruption: Full digital operations are reducing intermediaries and minimizing corruption risks.

· Paperless Documentation: Eco-friendly digital records are replacing traditional paperwork.

· Legal Aid Integration: A streamlined digital mechanism is supporting faster family dispute resolution.

· Online Hearing Options: Limited online hearing facilities are introducing speed and flexibility in proceedings.

· Enhanced Lawyer Efficiency: Lawyers are gaining quick access to digital databases and real-time case tracking.

This advanced solution  developed without any government funding is already being tested successfully by 250–300 officials from the Judiciary, Ministry of Law, and the Supreme Court.

This initiative is not only transforming the judicial ecosystem but is also strengthening the national digital governance framework. The collaborative model of Government–University–Tech Industry is creating a faster, transparent, paperless and citizen-centric service structure. In the future, it is ensuring quicker case disposal, easier information access, reduced administrative delays, and improved public service quality marking a significant milestone in realizing the vision of Digital Bangladesh.

Participants along with distinguished guests of South Asia's first 'Manonmancha: The Mindset Olympiad - Inter-College Competition' organized by Change Together Club of Daffodil International University (DIU).

The Change Together Club, run by the students of Daffodil International University (DIU), organized South Asia's first 'Manonmancha: The Mindset Olympiad - Inter-College Competition' aims to encourage the development of mindfulness, logical thinking, and leadership qualities in the young generation. This exceptional day-long event was held at DIU campus on November 14, 2025. Students from numerous colleges from different districts of the country participated spontaneously which made the competition livelier and more successful.

The main goal of this Olympiad was to create a platform for students to broaden their horizons of thought, in addition to their textbook-based knowledge acquisition. As this was the first time such an Olympiad based on Mindfulness and Growth Mindset was held in South Asia, it generated great enthusiasm among the participating youth.

The organizers said, "Manonmanch is not just a competition; it is a movement for the development of thinking." "I wanted to provide a space for young people where they can further develop their thinking, vision, and leadership skills and prepare to face the challenges of the future."

The enthusiasm of the participants and winners of the competition has further encouraged the organizers. The Change Together Club plans to expand this initiative on a larger scale, nationwide, in the future which will play an important role in developing the skills of young people and building a positive mindset.

Daffodil International University (DIU) is honoured to welcome H.R.H. Dom Duarte, Duke of Braganza, Head of the Portuguese Royal Household, for an official visit at DIU’s Daffodil Smart City campus in Birulia, Savar on Tuesday, 11 November 2025 at 11:00 AM.

The visit will feature the signing of a Strategic Partnership with the London Tea Exchange, and announcement that Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of Daffodil International University, will be appointed as the Ambassador of Bangladesh for the Fair Pay Charter, an interactive mini lecture session, cultural programmes and a luncheon in honour of the Royal Family.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was accorded a Guard of Honor by the university. Following this, the Duke will have the campus tour and interact cordially with faculty members, officials, and students. This royal visit marks the beginning of a new era of academic and cultural exchange between Daffodil International University and Portugal.

Dhaka, Bangladesh — 20 October 2025: TESOL Society of Bangladesh and Daffodil International University (DIU) are delighted to announce their upcoming flagship event, the TESOL BD-DIU International Conference 2025, titled “Bridging Divides: Human-Centred Language Education in the Age of AI and Social Transformation.” The conference will be held on 5–6 December 2025 at Daffodil International University, Dhaka, with hybrid (on-site and virtual) participation options. The event is jointly organized with the generous support of the British Council Bangladesh and the American Center, U.S. Embassy Dhaka.

A special Pre-Conference Event (PCE) will be held on 4 December 2025, featuring a Quick-Fire Round for students (BA, MA, MPhil, PhD) to present their innovative ideas on the role of AI in language education. This initiative aims to encourage young researchers to engage in emerging areas of scholarship and contribute to the evolving landscape of English language teaching and learning.

The TESOL BD-DIU International Conference 2025 aims to bring together scholars, educators, and practitioners from across the globe to examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be integrated into language education while upholding its human-centered values. The conference will encourage critical discussions on ensuring that language education continues to promote social cohesion, cultural preservation, and global understanding amid the challenges of rapid technological advancement and social transformation.

This year’s conference has already generated remarkable international interest, with around 400 abstracts received from researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide. Participants will engage through paper presentations, workshops, symposia, and poster sessions. Selected conference papers will be published in a Special Issue of the TESOL Bangladesh Journal, providing an avenue for academic recognition and global dissemination of impactful research. Two distinguished keynote speakers from the United States and the United Kingdom will be joining the event in person to share their insights. Professor Dr. Gary Motteram, Honorary Senior Research Fellow, Manchester Institute of Education, The University of Manchester, UK, will grace the conference as a keynote speaker. While addressing as the chief guest Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury said, Bangladesh is fully prepared to graduate from the Least Developed Country (LDC) category, stating that deferral is not possible and the country must move forward. His opinion focuses on the need to transition to a competitive edge without LDC-specific benefits by enhancing productivity through better wages and training, and exploring eco-friendly energy sources. He emphasizes that the country has the capability to succeed, despite challenges, and has outlined a strategy with a high-level monitoring committee to manage the transition and ensure minimal harm.  

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, Students and youth have a crucial role in LDC graduation by driving innovation, developing skills for a changing economy, and advocating for inclusive policies to ensure a smooth and beneficial transition. They are not just beneficiaries but active participants who can help a country diversify exports, build a competitive workforce, and contribute to national development goals like becoming an upper-middle or high-income country. 

The organized hoped that the seminar will help to create a platform for interactive dialogue between policymakers, academia, and students and to inspire the younger generation to actively contribute to Bangladesh’s development trajectory post-graduation.

Daffodil International University (DIU) hosted ‘Nabanno e Bangaliyana,’ a vibrant celebration of rural culture and the rich heritage of Bengal. The highlight of the event was an inter-university folk competition featuring participants from eight (8) universities.

The program, organized by DIU’s Change Together club, took place on November 25 (Monday) at the university’s campus in Birulia, Savar. The Treasurer of DIU, Dr. Hamidul Haque Khan, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Special guests included Prof. Dr. Md. Bellal Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Liza Sharmin, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Also present were Assistant Professor and Director (In-Charge) of Student Affairs Amit Chakraborty, alongside the club’s conveners and members.

The event was further enriched by the presence of popular celebrities Irfan Sajjad, Tahiya Tajin Khan Ayesha, and members of the Voyal team, who joined as special guests.
The inter-university folk competition featured teams from several prominent universities, including: IUB Music Club, BRAC University Cultural Club, BUFT Fashion Club, North-South University Folk Creation, Dhaka International University Cultural Club, Natyam, Jahangirnagar University, Southeast Cultural Society, Eastern University Cultural Club (EUCC). Additionally, the event included a DIU Startup Market where young entrepreneurs showcased innovative and creative products. The program was further enlivened by mesmerizing performances of traditional folk songs and dances, highlighting the beauty of Bengali heritage.

Jasia Mustafa, Lecturer (Senior Scale) of the Department of Management and Convener of the Change Together club, stated, ‘Nabanno e Bangaliyana’ is a heartfelt tribute to the traditions of Bengal. It has inspired students and the community to reconnect with the cultural roots of Bengal, fostering unity and creativity. This celebration of love and respect for heritage has left a lasting impression on all participants.

Daffodil International University (DIU) has signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with ten (10) prestigious universities around the world. These agreements were signed with the commitment to fostering collaborative attitudes in the international educational sector and the promise of providing modern education to students.

Recently, during the 17th General Conference of the Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) held at Jagran Lakecity University in Bhopal, India from November 18–20, 2024, these agreements were officially finalized. On behalf of DIU, the Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, signed the documents. The universities with which DIU has signed these agreements include Adamson University, Bataan Peninsula State University, Our Lady of Fatima University, and Liceo de Cagayan University from the Philippines; Vikrant University and IES University from India; Mainz University of Applied Sciences from Germany; Washington University of Science and Technology from the USA; Danubius University from Romania; and University of Saint Joseph from Macau, China.

Through these agreements, the universities will collaborate on joint research, new academic innovations, faculty and student exchange programs, virtual learning platforms, and creating scholarship opportunities for students. DIU has entered into these agreements with the goal of addressing current global challenges in education, promoting cultural exchange, and enhancing mutual cooperation between these international educational institutions. Additionally, DIU is committed to ensuring a modern and sustainable educational environment on the global stage.

In his speech at the conference, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan stated that these agreements will help improve the quality of education worldwide and create more academic opportunities for faculty and students. He emphasized the need for further cooperation between institutions to make education more technology-driven and student-friendly.

After the AUAP conference, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, at a special invitation, visited IES University in India on November 21. During this visit, he signed another separate MoU with the university, in which both he and the Chancellor of IES University, ER. B.S. Yadav, agreed to jointly carry out various activities and pledged to improve the education sector. Furthermore, during a special session, Dr. Khan advised the young students of IES University to prepare themselves to emerge as entrepreneurs. As a successful entrepreneur in Bangladesh's technology and educational sector, Dr. Khan has been regularly conducting sessions at various universities and conferences across Asia to guide and motivate young entrepreneurs with valuable insights and strategies to succeed in the current market.

Daffodil International University is hosting ICPC-2024 (International Collegiate Programming Contest-2024) Asia Regional Dhaka Site on December 07, 2024 at Shadhinota Sommelon Kendra of the university at Daffodil Smart City at Birulia, Savar Dhaka.  This was announced in a “ Meet the Press Program held today on November 24, 2024 at National Press Club in the capital. It was informed at the `Meet the Press’ that the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), organized by the ICPC Foundation, is one of the largest platforms for students worldwide to showcase their programming skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities. 50,000 students from more than 3,000 universities worldwide participate in this competition every year. After completing the competition at the regional level, the best team is selected for the World Finals. The winning teams in the Dhaka regional stage will have the opportunity to directly participate in the 2025 World Finals. The World's Largest Onsite Programming Competition Dhaka Regional ICPC 2024, with 308 participating teams, has achieved the status of the largest onsite programming competition in the world today. 2,489 teams from 148 public and private universities and various IT institutes of Bangladesh participated in the preliminary round. These teams are selected based on the results of this round and taking into account past success and performance. While no announcement has yet been made as to where the world finals of the global competition will be held in 2025, the latest round of meetings between China and Mexico is a huge honor for whichever country hosts it.

The press conference informed that the competition will be held on December 7 from 8 am to 9 pm (non-stop) at the University's Independence Conference Center in Daffodil Smart City, Savar.

Top 10 universities will get cash prize, certificate and first 3 teams and top women team will get cash prize, certificate and champion trophy. First place winners will receive a direct invitation to participate in the 2025 World Finals.

In addition, all winners (except Champion University) will receive a direct invitation to participate in the 2025 Asia West Finals. Regional winners from India, Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will also participate in the Asia West finals (excluding Champion University). Asia West's leading teams are also invited to participate in the World Finals.  This year's event includes Junior Competitive Programming Contest to attract new generation to programming, where school level students can participate, informed the press conference.

The successful organization of the ICPC 2024 competition has the important contribution of various subsidiary organizations: DutchBangla Bank Limited is providing direct sponsorship as a platinum sponsor. Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC): Engaged in technical cooperation under Information and Communication Technology Department. It was informed in the press conference that Daffodil Computers Limited is providing necessary technical support as a hardware support partner.

Special aspects of the competition:

1. Micro Credential Program Launched: Daffodil International University has launched a special micro credential program for students of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology (Rijhwan) along with the competition. Under this program, students can acquire specialized skills like AWS, Oracle and Competitive Programming, which will make them international professional skills. 2.Large scale event: The country's largest job fair event, where leading IT companies will participate. 3.     Live scoreboard display and various tech talk sessions during the competition. With the efforts of Daffodil International University and its affiliates, this year's competition will serve as a milestone not only for the technology students, but for the overall progress of the country's IT sector.
