Dhaka, Bangladesh — 20 October 2025: TESOL Society of Bangladesh and Daffodil International University (DIU) are delighted to announce their upcoming flagship event, the TESOL BD-DIU International Conference 2025, titled “Bridging Divides: Human-Centred Language Education in the Age of AI and Social Transformation.” The conference will be held on 5–6 December 2025 at Daffodil International University, Dhaka, with hybrid (on-site and virtual) participation options. The event is jointly organized with the generous support of the British Council Bangladesh and the American Center, U.S. Embassy Dhaka.
A special Pre-Conference Event (PCE) will be held on 4 December 2025, featuring a Quick-Fire Round for students (BA, MA, MPhil, PhD) to present their innovative ideas on the role of AI in language education. This initiative aims to encourage young researchers to engage in emerging areas of scholarship and contribute to the evolving landscape of English language teaching and learning.
The TESOL BD-DIU International Conference 2025 aims to bring together scholars, educators, and practitioners from across the globe to examine how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be integrated into language education while upholding its human-centered values. The conference will encourage critical discussions on ensuring that language education continues to promote social cohesion, cultural preservation, and global understanding amid the challenges of rapid technological advancement and social transformation.
This year’s conference has already generated remarkable international interest, with around 400 abstracts received from researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide. Participants will engage through paper presentations, workshops, symposia, and poster sessions. Selected conference papers will be published in a Special Issue of the TESOL Bangladesh Journal, providing an avenue for academic recognition and global dissemination of impactful research. Two distinguished keynote speakers from the United States and the United Kingdom will be joining the event in person to share their insights. Professor Dr. Gary Motteram, Honorary Senior Research Fellow, Manchester Institute of Education, The University of Manchester, UK, will grace the conference as a keynote speaker. Additionally, experts from over ten countries, including the USA, UK, India, Nepal, and others, will participate as plenary and featured speakers, making this a truly global academic gathering.

TESOL Society of Bangladesh successfully organized the last two international conferences in collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC), the Ministry of Education (Government of Bangladesh), and the International Mother Language Institute (IMLI), receiving overwhelming responses from academics and practitioners at home and abroad.
