Prof. Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, Member, Council of Advisors of Bangladesh Awami League and veteran freedom fighter addressing the discussion meeting on 41th martyre-dom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day-2016 held at Daffodil International University.

Daffodil International University (DIU) paid glowing tributes to the country’s founding president and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman marking his 41th martyr-dom anniversary and National Mourning Day with due respect recalling the August 15, 1975 carnage, when Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed along with most of his family members. The national flag was hoisted at half-mast as the sun rises on August 15, 2015 at DIU main campus as well as permanent campus. To mark the occasion a discussion meeting followed by a prayer offered for eternal peace of Bangabandhu and his family members, who embraced martyr-dom on August 15, 1975 was offered today on August 16, 2015 seeking eternal peace of the departed souls at the Auditorium of Daffodil International University.

Prof. Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, Member, Council of Advisors of Bangladesh Awami League and Professor of International Business of University of Dhaka was present as the chief guest in the discussion session. Prof Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University presided over the function. The function was also addressed by Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan, Treasurer, Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahabub-Ul –Haque Majumder, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Professor Dr. M. Shakhawat Ali Khan, Advisor, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Mr. Mahabub Parvez, Head, Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of DIU. Mr. Rashed Ratul, Research Associate of Department of Journalism and Mass Communication conducted the program and Maolana Habibut Rahman offered munajat in the program.

While Addressing Khondoker Bazlul Hoque said, Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bangali of all time, Founder of Independent Bangladesh and Father of the Nation is the symbol of unity. He urged the young generation to be resuscitated with the spirit of Liberation War and engage themselves to the task of materializing Bangabondhu’s dream of building a Golden Bengal turning into strength the grief of the great loss of the Father of the Nation.

The function was attended by all the Head of the Departments and Deans of different Faculties. A Large number of Faculty members, Officers, employees and students were present on the occasion.
