Daffodil International University Pays Tribute to Martyred Freedom Fighters at National Martyrs’ Memorial on Independence Day
On the occasion of Independence and National Day, Daffodil International University paid deep tribute to the nation’s heroic martyrs in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. To honour those who sacrificed their lives for the country, the university placed floral wreaths at the National Martyrs’ Memorial on this day of independence.
The programme was held on the morning of 26 March 2026 under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr M R Kabir. Following the laying of wreaths, a moment of silence was observed in remembrance of the martyrs, and prayers were offered for the salvation of their souls.
Among those present were Director of External Affairs Dr Syed Mizanur Rahman, along with faculty members, officials and students of the university. Their presence created a solemn and respectful atmosphere at the memorial premises, reminding all of the true significance of independence.
Speakers at the event noted that Independence Day is not merely a historic occasion, but a symbol of national identity, sacrifice and indomitable courage. They emphasised the importance of instilling the spirit of the Liberation War among the younger generation and encouraging them to play an active role in nation-building.
Through this tribute, Daffodil International University expressed its profound respect for the country’s history and heritage, while reaffirming its commitment to inspiring future generations with the values of patriotism.
