Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family along with the distinguished guest and the winners of AI Olympiad Bangladesh 2025 organized by Daffodil International University and Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI).
Country’s first ever and the largest day-long technology and innovation event, ‘AI Olympiad Bangladesh 2025’, was jointly organized by Daffodil International University (DIU) and Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) today on May 3, 2025 at Daffodil Tower in Dhanmondi, the capital city of Dhaka.More than 700 students, young innovators and technology enthusiasts from across the country participated in the olympiad and with their participation the day became a national celebration of artificial intelligence.
Mr. Shish Haider Chowdhury, NDC, Secretary, Information and Communication Technology Division of Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology was present as the chief guest at the Closing and Awrd giving ceremony of the Olympiad and distributed prizes among the winners. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Daffodil Family and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University presided over the program. Mr. Md. Munir Hasan, Chief Coordinator, Digital Transformation and Youth Program (Events and Activation) of the Daily Prothom Alo, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Family and Prof. Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology of Daffodil International University were present as the special guests. Earlier in the morning, Prof. Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University inaugurated the day long Olympiad as the chief guest. Rathindra Nath Das, Convener of the AI Olympiad 2025 and Executive Director of Daffodil International Professional Training Institute (DIPTI) and Daffodil Technical Institute, gave an overview of the overall activities of the event at the program.
While Addressing as the chief guest ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury said, "Artificial Intelligence is not just a technology, but a tool for nation-building. This Olympiad is taking our youth forward on the path of that capability." ICT Division is relentlessly working for the development of country’s information technology and in coming days ICT Division will extend its helping hand in organizing AI Olympiad regularly, he added.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, Technology has a close relation with new generation and Bangladesh will go a head in ICT Sector with the contribution of our new generation.
He urged the Participants to continue their effort in the field of AI and innovate new innovation for the development of the country.
Three day-long, insightful workshops discussed the real-life applications, ethics, and potential of AI. Participants submitted projects at three levels (primary, secondary, and higher secondary)
and 36 teachers from the Departments of Computer and Engineering (CSE), Computing and Information Systems (CIS),
and Software Engineering of Daffodil International University participated in the final judging process.
Champion, First Runner-Up and Second Runner-Up winners in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level were awarded in the Olympiad.
In Tertiary Level Bangladesh University of Engineering University Team became best of the Best team. Team Wisdomic of Daffodil International University became Champion while Team Tsar of Sha Jalal University of Science and Technology became 1st Rumnner Up and Team OSMAN of Daffodil International University became 2nd Runner Up. In Primary Level Dreamer Team from Brahmanbaria became Champion while Neuronetic from Dhaka became 1ST Runner Up and Team OKGS from Joypurhal became 2nd Runner Up.
