DIU–UOW Partnership Opens New Pathways to Higher Education in Australia

Daffodil International University (DIU) has reached an agreement with the University of Wollongong (UOW), Australia, to introduce 2+2 and 3+1 study pathways, expanding international higher education opportunities for its students. The agreement was reached during a meeting at UOW’s main campus in Wollongong, Australia, on 28 October. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of DIU and Chairman of Daffodil Group, led the DIU delegation.

Under this , students enrolled in DIU’s Bachelor of Entrepreneurship, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English, and Bachelor of Social Science in Journalism, Media and Communication (JMC) programmes will have the opportunity to continue their higher education in Australia, subject to meeting the required conditions. Under the 2+2 pathway, students will study at DIU for two years before completing the next two years at UOW. Under the 3+1 pathway, students will complete three years of study at DIU before spending one year at UOW. Both pathways will depend on programme approval, credit transfer arrangements, and the admission and academic requirements of the two universities.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan led the DIU delegation at the meeting. He was accompanied by Abdul Khan Ratan, DIU’s representative for the Australia zone. Representing UOW were Professor Jiangtao Shi, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor (Global Engagement); Professor Venkata Yanamandram, Deputy Dean (Growth and Global) of the Faculty of Arts, Society and Business; Professor Philip Ogunbona, Deputy Dean (Growth and Global) of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences; and representatives from the Global Partnerships division.

This  will give students the opportunity to gain academic experience in both Bangladesh and Australia. It is also expected to help them experience an international learning environment, develop new skills, and prepare for their future careers.

Alongside the study pathways, the two universities may explore opportunities to expand cooperation in student and faculty exchange, research, innovation, entrepreneurship development, and joint teaching. Subject to mutual agreement and academic approval, the partnership may also be extended to programmes in Information Technology and Engineering in the future.

According to the QS World University Rankings 2027, published in June 2026, the University of Wollongong ranked 195th globally and 13th in Australia, placing it among the world’s top 200 universities.
