Md. Jahangir Hossain, Director General of the Bangladesh Patent, Industrial Designs and Trademarks Department, and Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir, Vice-Chancellor Daffodil International University are handing over the Patent Development Award and certificate  for automated food delivery robot`Kiti’ invented by the department of Software Engineering of Daffodil International University.

Students of the Software Engineering Department of Daffodil International University have developed an automated food delivery robot called “Kiti.” Automated food delivery is a modern system that does not require humans to deliver food. This task uses an autonomous robot that can move on its own and deliver food directly to the customer. The robot has cameras, sensors, and a navigation system that understands the environment. It follows a set path using GPS and maps. It avoids people, cars, and other obstacles along the way. This system is primarily designed for last-mile delivery, that is, the final step of delivering food from a restaurant or kitchen to a customer. These robots are typically used in university campuses, residential areas, and business areas.

Md. Jahangir Hossain, Director General of the Bangladesh Patent, Industrial Designs and Trademarks Department, inaugurated the robot at a function organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the university's Aminul Islam Hall today on August 18 (Monday). Professor Dr. M. R. Kabir, Vice-Chancellor of the University presided over the program. The event was addressed by Professor Dr. Kabirul Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Dr. Md. Zahirul Islam.,Consultant (Patent) of Daffodil University, Habibur Rahaman, Deputy Director (Patent), Department of Bangladesh Patent, Industrial Designs and Trademarks and Inventor of `Kiti’ and Assistant Professor of Software Department Hafizul Imran.

Inventor Hafizul Imran said, "The name of the robot we created is Kiti. It is an automated food delivery robot. It was created by the Software Engineering Department of Daffodil International University. The journey of creating this robot began in 2022." t is currently in Version 1. Kiti was created primarily for food delivery to university campuses and residential areas.
