On January 2, 2026, on the final day of the National Mourning observance honoring three-time Prime Minister of Bangladesh, National Leader Begum Khaleda Zia, 6,500 members of the Daffodil Family came together during their annually scheduled Family Day to pay deep tribute to her memory and to pray for the eternal peace of her soul.
At the same time, Daffodil Group announced a groundbreaking and historic social commitment. Through this declaration, the Group officially announced that from 2026 onward, one-third of Daffodil Group’s net profit (One-Third Net Profit) will be dedicated to the welfare of the people of Bangladesh a rare and exemplary milestone of responsible and humane corporate leadership in the country’s corporate history.
The Family Day program was held at Daffodil Smart City in Savar, with the presence of leadership representing various concerns of Daffodil Group and more than 6,500 members of the Daffodil Family. The commitment was formally enacted through an official agreement, clearly signaling that the Group’s future journey will not be limited to business profit alone, but will prioritize national development and public welfare as its core mission.
On the occasion of Family Day, Daffodil Group also expressed gratitude to its long-serving human resources. Seventy-nine employees with over 20 years of service and thirteen employees with more than 30 years of service were honored with special recognition. Daffodil Group firmly believes that dedicated employees are the foundation of sustainable institutional success.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of Daffodil Group, Dr. Sabur Khan, stated, “From 2026, one-third of the net profit of all Daffodil Group concerns will be dedicated to public welfare.”
He emphasized that this initiative is not merely a part of corporate social responsibility, but a long-term commitment to nation building. He added, “This is not just a donation; it is a Nation Building Investment.”
From a broader perspective, this initiative stands as a model for all corporate sectors in Bangladesh. Referring to limited resources and a large population, Dr. Muhammad Sabur Khan remarked that without humanity, society risks becoming dangerous for everyone, emphasizing the need for ethical and compassionate corporate leadership.
It was also specially mentioned that the district-based development model implemented by Daffodil Foundation since 2000 will be expanded across the entire country from 2026 onward. Through this expansion, Daffodil Group reaffirmed its strong commitment to working with promising and potential youth from every corner of Bangladesh.
During the event, Daffodil Group shared the vision behind its One-Third Social Commitment, clarifying that this “One-Third Donation” is not a conventional act of charity, but a far-reaching social responsibility and a long-term nation-building plan. The fund will ensure continuous investment in education and scholarships, youth leadership, job creation, healthcare, social protection, and innovation. Simultaneously, the district-based development initiatives of Daffodil Foundation will be scaled nationwide starting in 2026.
Chief Executive Officer of Daffodil Group, Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, also clarified that allocating one-third of the Group’s net profit will not affect the salaries, benefits, or allowances of employees at any level.
Daffodil Group believes that through this initiative, employees will take pride in knowing that their labor directly contributes to the welfare of the nation. The organization will evolve beyond being merely a corporate group to becoming a partner in national development a true national asset, laying a strong foundation for a culture of responsible corporate citizenship in Bangladesh.
This historic announcement by Daffodil Group demonstrates that true success becomes meaningful only when institutional growth creates a positive impact on the lives of the people. Through this initiative, Daffodil Group has taken another decisive step toward building a humane, sustainable, and values-driven future.
