Special Police Training Workshop on Digital Forensics Organized by Daffodil
A hands-on training workshop titled “Practical Digital Forensics Training” was held at Daffodil International University (DIU) with the participation of about 50 officers from Savar and Ashulia police stations. To gain practical experience in digital crime investigation and forensic analysis, the workshop included practical sessions, real-time demos, and training through internationally recognized forensic tools.
On Saturday (21 June 2025), the workshop was held at the university campus in Daffodil Smart City, Birulia, Savar, jointly organized by the Department of Software Engineering and the Cyber Security Center (CSC).
The opening ceremony of the event was attended by Professor Dr. Imran Mahmud, Head of the Department of Software Engineering, and Associate Professor Dr. Rubaiyat Islam, Director of the Cyber Security Center. Also present as a guest trainer was Assistant Attorney General of the International Crimes Tribunal (Bangladesh) and Managing Director of Backdoor Private Limited, Tanvir Hassan Zoha.
As a special part of the workshop, a demonstration was presented on the CSC-developed community app "Complaint Management Service" and "InsightPol by CSC-DIU". The guests believed that it could play an effective role in the digital complaint management of the field-level police administration. In addition, the university’s Proctor Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Allayear presented various relevant aspects of the “DIU Smart Proctor” app, which, according to the speakers, could support the country’s administration in maintaining a fully monitored system through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This workshop was organized as a social initiative or activity of CSC, aimed at empowering law enforcement agencies in technology-based crime investigation and creating an effective bridge between the university’s research and innovation and field-level practical implementation.
This initiative of Daffodil International University is a shining example of building a connection between technology and social activities, which is not only limited to training, but according to the guests present, is laying a strong foundation to ensure the effective application of modern technology in future cybercrime prevention, digital security, and citizen services. DIU and CSC expressed hope that such activities will continue in the future.
