To strengthen the triangular relationship and strong bonding of parents–students and teachers, Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a program under the course of ‘ Art of Living’ with parents titled “Parents Day” held at the Auditorium of DIU Permanent Campus today on November 25, 2016. Office of the Director of Student Affairs of Daffodil International University organized the program as an essential part of Art of Living course, Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest. Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, DIU presided over the program. Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director Student Affair’s conducted the interactive program where a large number of parents and guardians took part and exchanged their views. The program was also addressed among other by Prof. Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Acting Pro-Vice Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Professor Dr. A M M Hamidur Rahman, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Professor Dr. Engineer A K M Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, Mr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration). Alarge number of students and guardians also spoke on the occasion.

The day long program started with national anthem assembled all together. Then the students took formal oaths to keep their parents always with them; they would never send them to old home. The oath taking session was conducted by the students. The students swear in that they would always be with their parents and would not sent them to Old home at any circumstances rather they would be more attentive to take care of them as a part of their family and social responsibility. Beside this they would play the role to create strong social movement for building awareness about the rights and services for the elderly people of the society.
Later the students washed the feet of their parents as a symbol of gratitude and loyalty and parents embraced their son and daughter closely and expressed their emotions and feelings. The overall scenario of the campus became very sensational.

Addressing as the chief guest Honorable Chairman Mr. Md. Sabur Khan said that only strengthening the triangular relationship and strong bonding of Parents-Students-Teachers can help a student to uplift him at the top of successful life and prosperous career and for that Daffodil International University introduced Art of Living course which is very important and effective now a days for the nation. He also said, Daffodil International University always try to develop the strong feelings of ethics and social values and morality and playing strong role against Militancy and Terrorism and associating Government and law enforcing agencies to prevent militancy and will also extend cooperation to do everything in coming days. He urged the guardians to take care of their children so that they can’t be involved in such type of militant activities. He advised the student’s- teachers and guardians to be more friendly and interactive.
Students are sharing their feelings at Parents Day
In his presidential address Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam said, parents are the guide or philosopher of every children. Father plays the role as a pilot and mother plays the role as a navigator. As a result of contribution from both a student reach to his perfect destination.
He urged the students to make the best use of the resources provided by the university and make them fit to face the challenges of the 21st century.
He also said, DIU provides its students with many facilities to pursue their studies and hone their skills. Urging the students to be an ideal human being he said that three major things - discipline, honesty and quality can make life successful. To be an ideal citizen of the country he advised the students to achieve these virtues.

In the program Parents and Students have shared their thoughts and emotions. Parents throughout this session appreciated DIU authority that they have organized such great moments where everyone shared their feelings and got the opportunity to meet the higher authorities of DIU and spend some times with them in an intimate environment. This day helped every parents, children and teachers to know each other very well and got the opportunity to know what they want from each other.
