Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) of Daffodil International University has been awarded “National ICT Award 2016” on October 22, 2016 at Digital World-2016 Award Night. University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) nominated Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain for this award evaluating his outstanding Contribution to the ICT Education and Technology of Bangladesh. Mr. Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh handed over the award to Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain for his excellent contribution in ICT Education and Technology. His Excellency Mr. Lyonpo D.N.Dhungyel, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Information & Communications, Royal Government of Bhutan, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT Division, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Shyam Sunder Sikder, Secretary, ICT Division, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Mr. Mustafa Jabbar, President, Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) were also present during the award giving ceremony.
