“ICT for Bangladesh & be a Digital Scout” for Scouts

To make the Scouts IT friendly and develop them with IT knowledge based skills Daffodil International University Air Rover Unit conducted a workshop and presentation session for Scouts on “ICT for Bangladesh & be a Digital Scout” on January 21, 2012 at Chandpur Stadium at the 2^nd Chndpur District Scout Assembly. Focusing on the theme of this year’s camp “Role of Scout in developing Digital Bangladesh” Chandpur District Scout organized the camp from January 19-23, 2012. A total 800 scouts from 81 schools and madrasha participated in the camp.

Presided over by District Scout Commissioner and Chief of Camppuri Mr. Mofizul Islam renowned physician and social worker Dr. J R Wadud Tipu was the chief guest in the workshop. The workshop was also addressed by Ajoy Kumar Bhoumik, Secretary, Chandpur District Scout, Mr. Nur Khan, Principal Daffodil International School, Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Assistant Director (Public Relations), Daffodil International University, Hafez Ahmed, secretary, Sadar Thana Scouts and Akteruzzaman Khoka, Leader Trainer.

Md. Rafiqul Alam Rubel, Assistant Director (IT) conducted the workshop and presentation. Through the workshop and presentation the scouts were given basic ideas on Computer fundamentals and internet use and its application in practical life. They were also given concepts and guide line on chronological advancement of digitalization of Bangladesh. The workshop was very interactive and scouts enjoyed the workshop most and got the opportunity to know the latest innovation of ICT.

Later A quiz Competition was held among the scouts. Members of DIU Air Rover Unit Moon, Hasib, Jasim and Arif conducted the quiz competition and distributed prizes among the winners. Chandpur Al Amin Academy, Hasan Ali Gov’t High School, Matlab J.B. Pilot Girls High School, Shaharasti High School and Sontoshpur Madrasha won the prizes in quiz Competition.
