Daffodil International University celebrated its 16th Founding Anniversary today on January 27, 2018 with great enthusiasm and in a colorful manner & festive mood held at Permanent Campus at Ashulia in Dhaka. Professor Dr. Refik Polat, Vice Chancellor, Karabuk University in Turkey, Chair Professor K K Yoon, Chungnum National University of South Korea, Mr. Azman Bin Bidin, Managing Director of Perfect Triangle of Malaysia, Professor Dr. Mark James Bartholomew, UK , Ms. Yiping Wang, Professor, SIAS International University , China and many other foreign guests took part in the program. 

All the Deans, Directors and Heads of different departments along on the stage  at the 16th Foundation Anniversary of Daffodil International University. 

Country’s renowned journalist and Editor & Publisher of The Daily Star Mr. Mahfuz Anam graced the occasion as the Foundation Day Speaker. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University and Chairman, Daffodil Family presided over the ceremony. Conducted by Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director of Student Affairs, the function was addressed by Prof. Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. S M M ahabub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Head, Department of CSE, Professor Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Dean Permanent Campus,

25000 students including 6oo foreign students took part in the program. The day long program began with creating Human Logo “ I to WE” capturing the whole vast green play ground of the campus with the participation of the students.

Addressing as chief guest Mr. Mahfuz Anam said that, only slogan or saying love the country in the mouth, wouldn’t make the country prosperous. It requires proof like “Deeds not words”. You must have to be properly educated if you would to make the country happy. You have to utilize your merit, creativity and innovative ideas to develop the country. Bangladesh has lots of problems but you have to realize that you are a citizen of this independent country. So, you have lot of responsibility to build up this country as happier and prosperous Bangladesh, he added
Mr. Mahfuz Anam gave three tips to the students to follow to become successful in life i.e: not to waste their time, to keep strong self-confidence and flourishing creativity.

Mr. Mahfuz Anam said that his major identity is a freedom fighter. He feels pride that he is a part of independence of Bangladesh. The new generation should also keep cognition of Liberation War in their mind. Terming the new generation as the future leader of the country, Mr. Mahfuz Anam said, it’s your duty to make yourself as skilled and meritorious. The development of country is depending on you. So he urged the students to become a good and responsible citizen.

Addressing among the students Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said that, our teachers and students are committed to change this university as per the demand of global market. Today’s grand arrangement of foundation day is the testimony of their commitment. For the first time they arrange all food for the guests and participants in the campus. They make the largest human logo titled ‘I to WE’. One of our students has delivered more than 25000 T-shirt for the foundation day which is being displayed in the body of all students. These prove that our students are unique from others.

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan praised that, our teachers and students are also involved in technology. The evidence is showing today’s mega event. Diu is going to arrange the country large ICT Carnival in the forth coming month. The best idea presenter will get prize money of Tk. 10, 00000/=. He urged the entire students who have ICT knowledge to join the ICT Carniva

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan advised the students, nothing is impossible. Just keep confidence upon your own creativity and merit. Just do hard work according to your skill and ability. Daffodil International University started its academic activities with only 68 students in January 24, 2002. Now the number of enrolled student is more than 21000. Due to its quality education and outstanding performance the university could make position among ten top graded private universities of Bangladesh as per evaluation of the UGC. Daffodil International University’s permanent campus in a green and serene environment holds academic building, administrative blocks, auditorium, Residential Halls, departmental faculties and an ICT center, Football Play Ground, Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Basket Ball Court, Shahid Minar and Tennis Court.
