Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University and Professor Munibur Rahman Chowdhury, Convener, National Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad and Professor Sajeda Banu, President, Bangladesh Mathematics Society along with the winners of 8th Dhaka South Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad 2016. 

Mirza Md. Tanjim Shorif Mugdho of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) ranked top while ATM Jahid Hasan of University of Dhaka and Towsif Taher of BUET ranked 2nd and 3rd position respectively in the 8th Dhaka South Regional Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad 2016 held today on November 25, 2016 at Daffodil International University. Bangladesh Mathematical Society and A F Mujibur Rahman Foundation organized this Olympiad and Daffodil International University (DIU) was the host of the event. Among the top ten positions Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) clinched seven positions and University of Dhaka achieved the rest 3 positions. More than 300 participants from different public and private universities, colleges and institutions participated in this Undergraduate Mathematics Olympiad.
