Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop 3-day Workshop on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics” began today at Daffodil International University.

Speakers at the inaugural ceremony of a workshop said, our education system has become skill-biased and there is no emphasis on human values. So, while we progress in skills, develop and use new technologies, we are unable to ensure ethical use of the technology and uphold human values and professional ethics in the society. They said these while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the 3-day Workshop on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics” began today on May 02, 2016 at the Auditorium of Daffodil International University (DIU). Considering the importance of humane education and professional ethics in present society Daffodil International University organized this workshop.

Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University delivering his presidential address at the inaugural ceremony of the workshop 3-day Workshop on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics” began today at Daffodil International University.

The speakers stressed that parents, teachers and society/ environment have the responsibility of providing education to ensure development of definite human conduct and values. They recommended for developing individuals, families, group of families through preparing the teachers, education for excellence and bringing excellence in to all social support systems starting with the education system, then the legal system, health system, the productive system and so on. 

Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Chairman, National Human Rights Commission, Bangladesh inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest while Engr. Prof. Dr. M. Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor, Prime University, Bangladesh was present as the special guest and Prof. Dr. Yousuf Mahabubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as the guest of Honor. Senior Professors of Daffodil International University along with distinguished guests at the inaugural ceremony of  Workshop on “Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics” began today at Daffodil International University.

Professor R. R. Gaur Hon. Visiting Professor, National Resource Centre for Value Education in Engineering, IIIT, Delhi, India, Mr. Rajul Asthana of Manaviya Shiksha Sanskar Sansthan, Kanpur, India and Dr. Kumar Sanbhav, of Galgoties University, Utter Pradesh, India will conduct the 3-day workshop.

Conducted by Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs), the inaugural ceremony of the workshop was addressed by Professor R. R. Gaur Hon. Visiting Professor, National Resource Centre for Value Education in Engineering, IIIT, Delhi, India, Dr. Kumar Sanbhav, of Galgoties University, Utter Pradesh, India, Former Vice Chancellor of DIU and Emeritus Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman and Professor Dr. Engr. A K M Fazlul Haque, Registrar, DIU.

The workshop will mainly focus on critical issues of human values and professional ethics in higher education and need for practices of holistic and humane education in professional activities.
