15 members delegation from NYSC of Sri Lanka attends Bangladesh –Srilanka Youth Exchange Program 2017 at DIU

 15 members delegation of National Youth Services Council (NYSC) of Sri Lanka attended a week long Bangladesh-Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Program 2017 held from 22 to 28 November, 2017 at Daffodil International University under youth exchange program. The delegation comprises of 3 high officials and 12 Youth members of NYSC from different districts of Sri Lanka and leading youth organisations. The closing ceremony of the week long youth exchange program was held today on 28 November, 2017 at the Banquet Hall of the university, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University was present as the chief guest at the program. Dr. Khan praised the delegation for joining in this program and exchanging ideas and knowledge among the students and DIU. He also invited youth groups to come and have the experience of Bangladeshi lifestyle staying at DIU in an international environment. Professor Md. Yousuf M Islam PhD, Vice Chancellor of DIU conducted an interactive learning session for the delegation at the Closing ceremony. Dr. Md Sabur Khan, Chairman, DIU handed over a ‘Token of Appreciation’ to the Mr. Egodayalage Dayarathna, Assistant Director, NYSC Sri Lanka for active partnership and visit of the delegation at DIU. The program ended with a short cultural performance followed by lunch.

 

During their stay, they attended different workshops on Bangla language, Social Business, Art of Living, Entrepreneurship in action etc. At the same time, they explored the green campus of DIU, National Memorial, Bangabandhu Museum, key areas of Dhaka University and Jahangirnagar University & Daffodil Computers.

Apart from this, the team took part in cross cultural activities and a friendly cricket match between Bangladesh & Sri Lankan students. As a part of cross cultural visit, the team visited Sonargaon museum, Panam City & Meghna River. This is a continuous youth exchange program for every year between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka through active partnership of DIU from Bangladesh and NYSC from Sri Lanka.
