Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of Daffodil International University organized a Training of Trainers on “HEA Fellowships- Professional Recognition in L&T in Higher Education” on 12 December, 2016 at its own premises. Dr. Gauranga Chandra Mohanta, ndc, Project Director (Additional Secretary), Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project (HEQEP), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh graced the ToT as Chief Guest while Professor Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman, Emeritus Professor and Former Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University and Professor Dr. Ahmad Ismail Mustafa, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Science, Daffodil International University were present as Special Guests respectively. Dr. Mosharraf Sarker, Senior Lecturer in Human Biology, School of Science & Engineering, Teesside University, UK conducted the training as key Resource Person. Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Daffodil International University chaired the training program.
Chief Guest underscored the importance of enhancing quality of teaching through enhancing the capacity and quality of teachers. Institutional Quality Assurance Cell has been established in 61 public and private Universities so far with a view to enhancing the quality of higher education in the country. Daffodil International University is one of the universities which have been actively striving to ensure quality of education with the assistance of IQAC. Special Guests also praised the activities of IQAC towards ensuring quality higher education and arranging training programs like HEA Fellowship which can obviously ensure the quality, acceptability and recognition of the faculty members around the globe.

While delivering the keynote, the Resource Person let the participants know regarding the details of HEA fellowship along with its advantages, acceptability, recognition and entire modus operandi. He mentioned that HEA Fellowship is an international recognition of a commitment to professionalism in teaching and learning in higher education and demonstrates that your practice is aligned with the UK Professional Standards Framework (UKPSF). To date over 75,000 individuals have become Fellows of the HEA, he added.
More than fifty faculty members of different departments of DIU took part in the training session. Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC, DIU offered vote of thanks to the distinguished guests and participants for their active participation and contribution to make the training a success. Among others, representative from HEQEP and other IQAC officials were also present at the program.
