Mr. Kazi Reazul Hoque, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh addressing as the chief guest at the Human Rights Day program at Daffodil International University jointly organized by United Nations Information Center (UNIC), Dhka, Bangladesh and Daffodil International University.

Daffodil International University and United Nations Information Center (UNIC) Dhka, Bangladesh jointly observed The International Human Rights Day today through elaborate program titled “Commemoration of Human Rights Day”. The observance included seminar, poetry recitation and staging drama. 
To mark the day a based on the theme of this year “Stand up for someone’s right today” a seminar was organized at DIU Auditorium. Mr. Kazi Reazul Hoque, Chairman of National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh was the Chief Guest and Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil Family was present as the special guest. Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University presided over the program.

M. Moniruzzaman, Officer –In- Charge of UNIC Dhaka read-out the UN Secretary General’s message on the Day. Conducted by Rashedul Islam- a student of Journalism and Mass Communication Department The seminar was also addressed by Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director (Student Affairs). Country’s Renowned Poet Muhammad Samad, Poet Ruby Rahman and Poet Shihab Sarker were present and recited poetry in the program. A human rights drama was performed by Daffodil International University theatre group – ‘All Star Daffodils’.
Addressing as the chief guest Mr. Kazi Reazul Hoque said, The role of Human Rights is very important in that country which was born fight against establishing Human Rights and Human Rights issue is very potential for Bangladesh as a nation. He also said, the whole world is now passing a critical time of violating human rights and in Bangladesh human rights is also being violated in some different ways, so he urged all to be united and come forward to protect human rights and raise their strong voice against the violation of human rights. In this regards, state will have to play the vital role and civil society of the country will have to come forward in support of it, he added.
