Workshop 3 of Institutional Quality assurance cell (IQAC) of Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETE), Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a workshop on "Preparation and Submission of Improvement Plan" at the Digital Classroom of DIU on 5th November, 2016. The meeting was presided over by Professor Dr. A. K. M. Fazlul Haque, Head, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Daffodil International University (DIU), while Prof. Dr. Charles Carillo Villanueva, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director, IQAC, American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) was the chief guest and Professor Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC, Daffodil International University and Dr. A. K. M. Alamgir, Director (in-Charge), Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Eastern University were present as the special guests.

 

Professor Dr. A. K. M. Fazlul Haque, Head, Department of ETE, DIU, presented the preparation and improvement plan of the department. Among other speakers were Mr. A. S. M. Khairuzzaman, Chief Information Officer (CIO)& SEVP, The Premier Bank Limited,Mr. Ahtasam Shams Arafin, General Manager, Planning and Engineering Division, Mirtelecom Limited and other Alumnus. Departmental Faculty members, employers, students, non-academic staffs were also present during the workshop.

Mr. A. S. M. Khairuzzaman, emphasized on introducing cyber security courses to the program so that the students may be aware of the communication threats. Knowledge on ICT framework and obtaining IT certifications would add extra advantage for the graduates to hunt down jobs, he added. President of the ETE Alumni Association, Mr. Shamim Ahmed, ensured to provide any helping hands in case of providing internee and industrial visits for the students.

Prof. Dr. Charles Carillo Villanueva, in his concluding speech added that apart from the external peer reviewers, the most important feedback would be obtained from the faculty members that would help to uplift the quality of the program in the department.
