Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University addressing as the chief guest at the workshop on “Discussion and Direction for Future Initiatives to Eight Departments: EPR Report Perspective”
Institutional Quality Assurance Cell of Daffodil International University organized a Workshop on “Discussion and Direction for Future Initiatives to Eight Departments: EPR Report Perspective” on 27 September, 2016 at Digital Class Room of its own premises. The workshop was organized to inform the management regarding the commendations and recommendations made by the External Peer Review Team during the EPR process of eight self assessment departments of DIU. Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University was present as Chief Guest at the workshop while Prof. Dr. Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Director, IQAC presided over the program.
Among others, Professor Dr. Engr. A. K. M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar; Professor A. M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities & Social Science; Mr. Mohamed Emran Hossain, Director (Administration), Prof. Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Additional Director, IQAC also spoke in this occasion.
Mr. Nafees Imtiaz Islam, Senior Assistant Director (Research) & Office Manager, IQAC, DIU made the presentation on the subject issue at the workshop. He presented the result and recommendations made by the External Peer Review Team for all the SA departments and roadmap of preparing the draft improvement plan and go for implementation by them accordingly.
The discussants opined that it is essential to develop and maintain graduate attribute and strive to the activities relating to curriculum development considering the demand and real needs of the employment market. Now, the main task is to prepare the improvement plan and then go for implementation stage. A lesson plan committee will be constituted by the IQAC and Teacher’ evaluation and timely information to the faculties will be done. Also put emphasis on doing International workshop on Course curricula development by each dept.
Vice Chancellor, DIU stated the three requirements of employers, i.e. think ability of the students, strong communication skill and ownership which need to be considered in the curriculum development of each department. All Head of the departments and other faculty members comprising of self assessment committee members and IQAC officials were also present at the workshop.
