Ms. Afroza Akhter Tina, Senior Lecturer, Department of English of Daffodil International University (DIU) at the 10th International Symposium on Teaching and Researching EFL and ESP Writing for Global and Professional Communication
Ms. Afroza Akhter Tina, Senior Lecturer, Department of English of Daffodil International University (DIU) presented a research paper on “Problems and possible remedies to develop academic writing skill at Higher Secondary level in Bangladesh” in the 10th International Symposium on Teaching and Researching EFL and ESP Writing for Global and Professional Communication held from 23-25 September in Taiyuan University of Technology, Taiyuan, China. The International Symposium was followed by a conference workshop where scholars and professionals had the opportunity to exchange their expertise and experiences to enhance EFL and ESP writing teaching and research to better respond to local and global challenges. The Keynote Plenary speakers were: Dr Charlene Polio, Professor and Associate Chair in the Department of Linguistics & Germanic, Slavic, Asian, & African Languages at Michigan State University (MSU), Guillaume Gentil, PhD, Associate Professor in the School of Linguistics and Language Studies at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, Lawrence Jun Zhang, PhD, Professor of Linguistics-in-Education (Personal Chair) and Associate Dean, Faculty of Education and Social Work, University of Auckland, New Zealand. The Symposium was an international collaboration of researchers, teachers and students who shared their views regarding developing writing skill worldwide.
