According to the definition the number of these senior citizens in Bangladesh will be 20% of the total population of the country which means a large portion of the population will go under senior citizenship. To utilize the expertise of this vast population, this is high time to take initiatives. Bangladesh Government already has taken some initiatives like ‘Old Age Allowance Programme’ and under this program 2,7 million people are getting this benefit. But this initiative is not enough. Beside financial support elderly people needs to ensure some other facilities also as a part of human rights. He urged people of all walks and private institutions to come forward and raise a strong social movement for it, besides government initiatives.
