Prof. Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University addressing as the chief guest at the Round Table Discussion on “Career Challenges and Opportunities for the Fresher’s in Bangladesh” held today at Daffodil International University.
To face the professional challenges for the fresher’s graduate of the country, Daffodil International University has taken an initiative to form “Online Industry–Academia Forum” with the combination and active participation of eminent corporate leaders of different national and multinational companies. This was declared today on July 16, 2016 at a Round Table Discussion on “Career Challenges and Opportunities for the Fresher’s in Bangladesh” held at the Banquet Hall of the University. This forum will work to modernize the education system, introduce time befitting course curriculum and find out the way of how to fit the graduates as per requirement of job market. Eminent Corporate Leaders (CEO/COO/Divisional Heads of different Multi-National Companies and local Companies will be able to give their inputs, time befitting opinions and suggestions time to time through Facebook and other social media through which the course curriculum will be developed and modified accordingly. The speakers told at the round table that there exists immense employment opportunity in the private sectors, but still in most of the cases skilled and potential graduates couldn’t found. Gap between the industries –academia linkage is mainly responsible for this, the speakers opined and urged for a combined initiative to mitigate this crisis.
They opined to create linkage between the industries and academy from the very beginning of the graduation and besides the students, teachers also should be included for internship. Moreover, they also opined for involving Eminent Corporate Leaders, leading personalities of the industry and renowned Entrepreneurs as course teachers. The speakers stressed on soft skills, technological knowledge, industry –academia linkage and modernization of course curriculum to increase the professional skills of the fresher’s graduates of the country.
