To facilitate DIU assistance in establishing a data bank BERC for the power, gas, petroleum and renewable energy sectors of the country Daffodil International University (DIU) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) on June 21, 2016 at the Conference Room of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) Bhaban.

Professor Dr. Engr. A. K. M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, Daffodil International University and Md. Faizur Rahman, Secretary, Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has signed MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Professor Dr. M. Shamsul Alam, Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Director (International Affair’s), Mr. Md. Dara Abdus Satter, Assistant Professor & Associate Head, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of Daffodil International University (DIU) and Mr. A. R. Khan, Chairman, Mr. Rahman Murshed, Member (Gas), Mr. AKM Monowar Hossain Akhand, Director (Gas), Mr. Sontosh Kumar Sadhukhan, Director (Powar) and other officials of Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) were also present at the signing ceremony.

The purpose of the signing are to facilitate DIU assistance in establishing a data bank BERC for the power, gas, petroleum and renewable energy sectors of the country and the data bank will be used for conducting required technical, financial and economic analysis by BERC. DIU will provide necessary assistance to collect, format and store required data to establish a web based fully functional data bank.

DIU will also assign from time to time undergraduate students who will collect data from designated sources, prepare necessary formats and input these data for web storage and develop excel based software for ease of analysis. BERC will determine the type of data to be collected and stored, authorize data collection and provide guidance for storage and analysis.
