Director General of BNCC, Brigadier General S.M, Ferdous addressing as the chief guest at the inauguration of Daffodil International University BNCC platoon and Iftar Mahfil held at Daffodil International University.
Daffodil International University BNCC platoon organized inauguration of DIU BNCC Platoon under “A” company, 3 Battalion, Ramna regiment and hold a Iftar Mahfil on June 20, 2016 at DIU auditorium. Director General of BNCC, Brigadier General S.M, Ferdous was present at the program as the chief guest while Regiment Commander of Ramna Regiment Lt. Col. S.M. Salahuddin was present as special guest. The program was presided over by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University.
Addressing as the chief guest Brig. Gen. S.M, Ferdous described about various activities and future plan of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps and said, Government is going to adopt Bangladesh National Cadet Corps Act 2016 which is accepted in the cabinet meeting and sent to national parliament for final approval. He said, Adopting Bangladesh National Cadet Corps Act 2016, the overall activities of BNCC will gain momentum and will be expanded. He said BNCC is a trained organization and trained body which can contribute a lot to the society. We want to expand our social network through BNCC. So, we are planning to bring old and running Cadets in one plat form, he added. He also informed that BNCC is going to introduce NCC FM Radio and NCC TV very soon and already started operation of NCC School and College at Bi Pail at Gazipur and have a plan to establish a university for the Cadets. Program Chair Prof. Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam advised the cadet to be confident in life to become future leader and do something for the country from the bottom of your heart.
In the opening speech, adjutant 3 Battalion, Major Ataul Haque presented various activities and contribution of DIU BNCC Platoon. Special Guest Lt. Col. S.M. Salahuddin praised about the activities about Platoon and advised the cadet to be future leader.
DIU BNCC platoon was started their program on March 15, 2015. Now there is one male platoon consists of 35 cadets and female platoon will be opened very soon. PUO Engr. Md. Zahirul Islam, Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is the platoon Commander of DIU BNCC Platoon. Director (Training), Lt. Col. Towfique Nowshad and Adjutant Ramna Regiment Major Abdul Hamid Wadud, Major Md. Arman Ali Bhuiyan (Retd), Project Director, Development of Daffodil International University were also present in the program.
