Prof. Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul- Haque Majumder, Acting Vice- Chancellor of Daffodil International University addressing at the “Meet the Press” on “DIU Inter University T 20 Cricket Tournament 2016” held today at Bangabondhu National Stadium Meeting Room organized by Daffodil International University.
To increase sporting culture and practice and develop interaction among the students of private universities, Daffodil International University is going to organize “DIU Inter University T 20 Cricket Tournament 2016” from May 20, 2016 at DIU Permanent Campus Cricket Ground at Ashulia, Dhaka. Country’s leading 10 private universities are participating in this tournament. These were informed at a “Meet the Press” program held today at Bangabondhu National Stadium Meeting Room organized by Daffodil International University. Presided over by Deputy Registrar & Co Convener of the tournament Ishaque Miji, Prof. Dr. S M Mahbub-Ul- Haque Majumder, Acting Vice- Chancellor was present as the chief guest while Hamilton Masakadza, Captain of Zimbabwe Cricket Team was present as the special guest at the “Meet the Press” . The “Meet the Press” was also addressed by Mezbah-Ur- Rashid, Deputy Director (Planning & Development, Md. Anowar Habib Kazal, Senior Assistant Director (PR) and Md. Islam Uddin, Physical Instructor of Daffodil International University.
It was informed at the “Meet the Press” that 10 universities divided into two groups will took part in the tournament. The participating teams are BRAC University, Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), University of Liberal Arts of Bangladesh ( ULAB),Daffodil International Academy ( DIA), International University of Business Agriculture and Technology ( IUBAT), City University, Green University, Eastern University, Bangladesh University and host Daffodil International University ( DIU).
This was also informed at the “Meet the Press” that on June 03, 2016 Honorable State Minister for Youth and Sports Shri Biren Sikder will enjoy the final match and distribute prizes among the winners. Champion and Runner Up team of the tournament will get Additional Prize Money of Tk. 50,000/= and Tk. 30,000/= respectively in addition to Champion and Runner Up Trophy and Fair Play Winner Team will get Tk. 15,000/= including Fair Play Trophy.
