Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor and Founder Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University, Dr. Muhammad. Mazbah-ul-Islam, Professor, Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka and Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Librarian, Sher-e-E-Bangla Agricultural University along with other distinguished guests and participants of the training program on “Automation of Information Institution using Koha-ILS and MARC 21” held at Daffodil International University.
To ensure the practice of Koha-ILS & MARC21 for the better and smooth operation of Library in most of the colleges and universities and to bring libraries of all universities under the same platform of “Koha-ILS and MARC 21” a four day long training on “Automation of Information Institution using Koha-ILS and MARC 21” was held on May 6-9, 2016 organized by Daffodil International University (DIU) Library.
Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor and Founder Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University was present in closing ceremony of the training program and distributed certificates among the participants as chief guest while Dr. Muhammad. Mazbah-ul-Islam, Professor, Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka and Dr. Md. Anwarul Islam, Librarian, Sher-e-E-Bangla Agricultural University were present as special guest and Guest speaker respectively. Presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Golam Mowla Choudhury, Chairman, Library Committee of DIU,the function was addressed by Dr. Md. Milan Khan, Librarian, DIU.
It was main focus in the 9th training program that three students of the Department of Information Science and Library Management, University of Dhaka were participated under scholarship provided by DIU in collaboration with both Daffodil International University (DIU) and Dhaka University (DU). It is developed a new milestone of DIU due to provide three scholarships for DU students. Special guest expressed his gratitude and welcome DIU authority to give this opportunity. In future, he is also expected to make good relationship between two organizations through seminar/ conference / training etc.
