To create awareness among the students and mass people and to bring the disadvantages of Drug abuses as well as the way out to overcome these solutions to the young generations, department of Journalism and Mass Communication and Career Development Center of Daffodil International University organized two months long Anti Drugs Campaign. The campaign included Seminar, Rally, Anti Tobacco Poster competition, Mass Signing campaign through longest banner first ever of its kinds and inter university Anti Tobacco debate competition.

The month long Anti Drug Campaign concluded on July 26, 2011 through a seminar on “Communication Campaign against Drug” and prize giving ceremony. Founder Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Daffodil International University Professor Dr. Aminul Islam graced the occasion as the chief guest. Presided over by Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University the function was also addressed among others by Mrs. Ameena Islam, Head, Department of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Professor Dr. Golam Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and social science of Daffodil International University presented the Keynote paper in the seminar.
Earlier the final round of the Debate Competition was held between East West University and Stamford University. East West University became Champion and Stamford University became Runner Up in the Debate competition. Kamal Uddin Rony of East West University won the title of Best Speaker.

Addressing as the Chief Guest Emeritus professor Aminul Islam said, It is only possible to make success the anti tobacco movement through raising our values and creating Social awareness participating by all walks of people united. In this regards young society and students can play the vital role.
Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman Said, healthy life is the pre requisite to lead a happy life. To keep us healthy we must give up smoking. We must explore our values to form a tobacco free society.
Professor Dr. Golam Rahman, Daen, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science in his presentation statistically uphold the present drug situation in Bangladesh, needs to understand communicator factors, challenges and future. Through his presentation he urged the students to come forward to create awareness among all walks of people in anti tobacco movement utilizing our conscious and motivational approach to create a tobacco free society.
