Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Rahman, Chief Information Commissioner and renowned writer and journalist Anisul Haque in augurating the the ‘Alpana Utshab’ at Daffodil International University to mark Bangla New Year 1423.
Students of Daffodil International University celebrated Pahela Boishakh with great enthusiasm and gala events titled “Boishakh Parbone” to hail the New Year 1423 with new hopes and aspirations for a better, peaceful year. Sponsored by RAK Paints, the day long events included “Auspicious white paint on the street" (Alpona Utshob'), Mongal Shavajatra, flying paper- balloon, eating water rice with Hilsha and traditional cultural program like Puthi path, song, dance, poetry etc.
The gala events started with the grand opening of “Auspicious white paint on the street" (Alpona Utshob') from Asadgate to Dhanmondi 32 no. road. (1.2 km).Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Rahman, Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) inaugurated the Alpana Utshab at 12.01am at the beginning of the New Year at university campus premises while countries renowned writer and journalist Anisul Haque was present as the special guest. The inaugural ceremony was also attended by Mr. Md. Emran Hossain, Director (Administration), Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Director (Students Affairs) and Mr. Md. Nurul Kabir Sifat, Assistant Manager Marketing, RAK Paints.
Students of the Daffodil International University wearing colourful masks lead by its founder vice chancellor and Emeritus Professor Dr. Aminul Islam brought out a ‘mangal shobhajatra (procession of good wishes)’ from campuses premises to hail the New Year 1423 with new hopes and aspirations for a better, peaceful year.
There were about 200 students participated in gorgeous Alpona Utshob with a very festive mood on the road from Asadgate to Dhanmondi 32 no. Students of the Daffodil International University wearing colorful masks brought out a ‘mangal shobhajatra (procession of good wishes)’ from campuses premises at 9.00am in the morning as part of the festival lead by Founder Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Aminul Islam which surrounded the main streets of Dhanmondi Area.
