Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam officially inaugurating and releasing the new font ‘Abirvab’ developed by students of Multimedia and Creative Technology (MCT) Department.
There has been a substantial shortage of Bangla fonts. The students of Multimedia and Creative Technology (MCT) Department have come forward to contribute to fill this insufficiency. They have created a lot of Bangla Fonts under the Typographic Design Course of the department. Towhidul Islam Himel, a student of fifth semester created a complete set of Bangla Font ‘Abirvab’ (suitable for any operating system) under the supervision of Mr Mizanur Rahman Ashik, a faculty member of MCT Department.
This Bangle font ‘Abirvab’ is made available free of cost for the users and can be downloaded from http://www.mct.daffodilvarsity.edu.bd

The Dean of FSIT Professor Dr. S M Mahbu Ul Haque Majumder, Professor Dr. Kabirul Islam, Head, Department of MCT, Mr. Md. Emran Hossain, Director (Administration), Dr. Towhid Bhuyan, Head, Department of SWE, faculty members of MCT Department and students of MCT Department were present on this occasion. The student Towhidul Islam Himel worked for eight months under the respective teacher for complete development of Abirvab font.
Honorable Vice Chancellor of DIU congratulated the students and the teachers of MCT department for their contribution and mentioned that this new Bangla font will enrich our Language.
