Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees and Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University along with champion and Runner up Award winning team members of National Hekathon 2016 at the reception program accorded to them at Daffodil International University.
Daffodil International University accorded Grand Reception today on April 12, 2016 at university auditorium to the members of Champion and Runners Up team of Daffodil International University and Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT) for outstanding achievement of the team at National Hackathon 2016.
Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, BoT, Daffodil International University was present at the program as the chief guest while Professor Dr. Lutfar Rahman, Emeritus Professor, DIU was present as the guest of honor. Presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, the program was also attend by Professor Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Professor Dr. Pran Kanai Saha, Head, Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Md. Shakhawat Hossain, Principle, Daffodil Institute of IT (DIIT), Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Department of Software Engineering, DIU and Mr. Syed Mizanur Rahman, Director, Students Affair, DIU.
Addressing as the chief Md. Sabur Khan said, through developing new mobile apps to find out the ways to solve our problems, the new generation will take our country in a new height in global world. In this information and communication age, there exists immense opportunities to uphold the potentiality of own skills in global arena. He congratulated the students for the outstanding achievement and urged them to come forward to develop new apps and contribute to the development of the country.
Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam congratulated the students for their out standing performance and hoped that in coming days DIU students will bring more glorious success for themselves as well as for the university.
It is mentioned that the National Hackathon competition 2016 was organized by the ICT Division, Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh during 6-7 April at PSC Convention Hall, Mirpur, Dhaka. 2000 competitor were participated composed by 370 teams in this competition. The three apps from Daffodil International University titled “Energy Efficiency, Road Traffic & Accidents, Sonar Bangla” were Champion, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up respectively while one apps from Daffodil Institute of IT titled “QualitU” was 1st Runner Up.
