Nafiza Rahman Mou and Shuvo Ghosh -Two students of Daffodil International University got the best participation performance award in category of Dance (folk) and (regional fusion) in 9th south Asian Universities Festival- 2016 held from February 25-29, 2016 at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at Lucknow of Uttar Pradesh in India. Nafiza Rahman Mou (English Department) awarded for the dance (folk) and Shuvo Ghosh (Textile Engineering Department) awarded for (regional fusion) dance among the 300 participants of 10 countries. They received the award from Prof. R.C. Sobti, Vice Chancellor of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, the Central University of Uttar Prodesh in lucknow. Dr. Md. Fakhrul Islam the Joint Secretary of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) was also present during receiving the award.

SAUFEST is organized in line with the active collaboration and mutual assistance amongst the South Asian Countries in educational, social, cultural and economic fields. The participating countries include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Maldives, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Afghanistan.
Twenty Five participants including two officials from each South Asian Country were invited to participate in the cultural and literary events of Light Vocal, Folk Orchestra, Classical & Folk Dance, Mime, Debate, Elocution, Poster Making and Clay Modeling.
