Daffodil International University Debating Club (DIUDC) emerged as the Champion against Dhaka University Debating society (DUDS) in The 5th DSE Inter Club Debate Championship. The final debate and prize giving ceremony was held at the Selim Al-Deen Muktamanch of Jahangirnagar University on January 9, 2016.
The debate championship was organised by Debating Society of Economics (DSE). 32 teams of 32 university debating clubs took part in the Inter Club Debate Competition.
Before the final round debate, Daffodil International University Debating Club had back to back faced out and won 4 debates against Stamford University, Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka University (Aprajeoy Bangla) and Bangladesh Textile University. The Champion Team members are Al Mukitul Bari, Md. MesbahUddin Hasib and Omar Faruque Simanta. Omar Faruque Simanta of DIU DC adjudged as the Best Speaker in the Championship. The debate competition format was Asian Parliamentary.
Today the winning team members of DIU Debating Club along with Moderator Madam Farhana Helal Mehtab met with Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University. Honorable Chairman congratulated the team and urged to keep up the spirit in coming days. Later they also met with Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor of the university.
