Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University addressing at the orientation program of newly joined faculty members of Daffodil International University.

The orientation programme for the newly joined faculty members of Daffodil International University (DIU) was held on January 02, 2015 at Banquet Hall of Daffodil International University.Presided over by Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, the orientation program was also addressed by Mr. Hamidul Haque Khan (Murad), Treasurer of DIU, Professor Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics, Professor Dr. Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Professor A. M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science Professor Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor and founder Vice Chancellor and Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Emeritus Professor and Former Vice-Chancellor. Professor Dr. Engineer A.K.M. Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, DIU conducted the orientation programme. A total of 65 full time faculty members joined in different faculties of the university in this Spring Semester 2015.

While addressing Professor Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor of DIU welcomed the newly joined faculty members and urged to make the best use of the facilities and resources provided by the university and build the students to fit for face the challenges of the 21st century. He also mentioned some objectives like introducing key personnel of DIU, its facilities, operation, activities, ICT tools for instructions and other activities, DIU culture and lifestyle, professional development, Universal Human Values and Professional Ethics and so on. He also urged the newly joined faculty members to take part actively in supervising projects, thesis and motivate students about rules, regulations and strongly maintain the discipline of the university.

Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Emeritus Professor and former Vice-Chancellor said that the university has lots of expectation to the newly joined faculty members. He said, as teaching is the noblest profession, so teachers should teach the students not only course materials but also teach them life style and art of living. Knowledge is a most powerful thing in this world, a teacher should be more knowledgeable and skilled to spread their knowledge among the students, he added.
