Department of English and DIU English Alumni Association jointly organized DIU English Alumni Reunion 2015 on December 18, 2015 at DIU permanent Campus at Ashulia. Umme Kulsum, Head of the Department of English was present as the chief guest while prominent writer, Anisul Hauque was present as the special guest. Senior teachers of the Department Mr. Mustafizur Rahman, Ms. Liza Sharmin, Shubrata Chandra Mozumder, Mr. Humayun Morshed were also present there. English department Alumni Mir Sadia Siddiqua Sifat, Sakiba Bintey Yusuf, Masud Parvez Mithu, Mehedi Azim ,Habibur Rahman and Syed Amim Sameer, Secretary DIU English Alumni played a key role for organizing the daylong event. The program included Bus Rally, Games & Sports, Fun Events & Raffle Draw, Picnic and musical soiree. Around 100 passing out graduates of English Department attended the reunion program.
Addressing as the chief guest Umme Kulsum, said, English graduates passing out from Daffodil International University have been playing a vital role in the Education sector of home and abroad. They are also being employed in other sectors like, banking, media and corporate. She stressed that this type of reunion

will strengthen the interaction among the graduates that will ultimately create a vibrant DIU community. She also pointed out the chronological and gradual development and growth of the department which started with only 4 students in the first semester in 2002.
