1st National Girls Programming Contest held today on December 12, 2015 at Daffodil International University as part of observing ‘Computer Science Education Week 2015’ just like 160 other countries across the globe. This is the biggest programming contest for women participants for the first time in the history of Bangladesh hosted by Bangladesh Open Source Network (BDOSN) AND Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC). A total of 63 teams from different public and private university took part iun the contest. Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) BECAME Champion and Chittagong University of Engineering Technology (CUET) became Runner Up while Dhaka University obtained 3rd position in the contest.

Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak, MP, Honorable State Minister, ICT Division, Ministry of Post and Telecommunication was present as the chief guest at the closing and prize giving ceremony of the National Girls Programming Contest. The function was also attended by Prof. Dr. Yousuf M. Islam, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S. M. Mahbub-ul-Haque Majumder, Dean, FSIT, Professor Dr. Engr. A K M Fazlul Hoque, Registrar, Professor Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Daffodil International University, BDOSN’s General Secretary Munir Hossain, Online Programming Judging Platform Code-Marshall’s Chief Executive Mahmudur Rahman.
