The Department of English, Daffodil International University was prominently visible in the program schedule of the international conference on "Diasporas and Diversities: Teaching English in a Changing World" held at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) from 05 to 07 November 2015. The highest number of presenters in the conference--12 out of 66--was from DIU English, who made presentations in the areas of English Language Teaching, Linguistics and Literature. The presenters were Professor A. M.M. Hamidur Rahman, Mr. Khan Touseef Osman, Ms. Shampa Iftakhar, Ms. Afroza Akhter Tina, Mr. Subrata Chandra Mozumder, Ms. Antara Basak, Mr. Shahriar Mohammad Kamal, Ms. Fatema Begum Laboni, Mr. A. S. M. Humayun Morshed, Mr. Mir Md. Fazle Rabbi, Ms. Mir Sadia Siddequa and Ms. Sakiba Binte Yusuf. Their papers and participation in discussions and debates during the conference were much appreciated. "It is really encouraging," said Professor Hamidur Rahman about the quality as well as quantity of presentations made by the faculty members, "that DIU English is making its presence felt in the intellectual landscape of Bangladesh." The administration of DIU was generous enough to support the participants with transport facility for attending the conference.
