Practical learning can enrich students’ knowledge better than class room teaching - keeping this motto in mind Department of Entrepreneurship, Daffodil International University organized a field visit for its students at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka, on 7th November 2015.The team was led by Mr. Maruf Reza Byron, the Associate Professor & Head, Department of Entrepreneurship and Mr. Debasish Sarkar, International Motivational Coach and Trainer from New Delhi, India.
Mr. Leo D’ Silva, Manager, Restaurants, Bar & Events explained about ongoing Chinese Food Festival-2015 which was organized by the hotel for the very first time. He enlightened students with his knowledge about Chinesetraditions and culture. He also answered some questions regarding the festival and encouraged students for further inquiry.
Then Mr. Wali Al Hafiz, Guest Services Manager, being very generous led the students and the faculty members a short trip of the hotel, where the students were lucky to have a glimpse of the Hall of Fame, Presidential Suite, Deluxe Suite, Gymnasium, and the Swimming Pool of the hotel. He also explained about the security system of the hotel and how it works. Mr. Mizan, Security Manager of the hotel was also present there.

From this field visit the students have learned a lot of things about the atmosphere of a five star hotel, how to manage guests, and other administrative activities which they can implement in their future business plan.
It is mentionable that, Department of Entrepreneurship, from its inception,has been organizing various kinds of field visits, industry visits, local and international training sessions for its students to get the practical experience.
