Distinguished guests along with the recepients of By-Cycle  pose for a photo at the Green Campus Program held at DIU Permanent Campus 

As a sensible and innovative part of Academic Social Responsibility, Daffodil International University (DIU) always encourages promotes green campus for ensuring sustainability. In this regard, Daffodil International University has taken a contemporary initiative by celebrating green transport distribution among promising students and arranging Tree Plantation program today on 17 October 2015 at Permanent Campus to make the campus greener.

Cycle Rally brought out in observance of Green Transport celebration surrounding the campus of Daffodil International University 

 

Renowned Sculptor Prof. Hamiduzzaman Khan was present as chief guest in the program. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Honorable Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU was present as the Guest of Honor while Professor Dr. Golam Rahman, Pro-Vice Canceller, DIU and Mr. Musa Ibrahim, 1st Bangladeshi to reach the summit of Mount Everest were present as the special guests. Presided over by Dr. Mostofa Kamal, Director, Permanent Campus, the program was also addressed by Dr. A B M Kamal Pasha, Head, Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management.

Renowned Sculptor Prof. Hamiduzzaman Khan, DIU Pro-VC Prof. Dr. M Golam Rahman,  Mr. Musa Ibrahim along with Dr. Mostafa Kamal, Director, Permanent Campus are planting a saplings at DIU Permanent Campus.       

While addressing Prof. Hamiduzzaman Khan said, DIU is growing not ordinarily rather it is being nurtured from the souls of a dedicated team with an outstanding leadership and it will be the world class university which will bring fame for the country. I believe this will engrave into the soul of our students a sense of creating sustainable world to challenge against the climate change. While we celebrate green transport distribution among promising students and tree plantation will help to make the campus greener, he added.

Md. Sabur Khan, Honorable Chairman, BoT, DIU mentioned that the days are not so far that permanent campus will be the center of interest of all national and international academic activities and students will have to invest more efforts to get chance to study in permanent campus of DIU.

 

Mr. Musa Ibrahim, 1st Bangladeshi to reach the summit of Mount Everest inspired the cyclist of Daffodil to overcome obstacles by keeping oneself healthy and cycling is one of the best media to keep you fit for the challenges. After the formal inauguration session cyclists’ team went for a rally with the theme of sustainability at Daffodil Campus and the guests planted saplings of different wooden and fruit trees to ensure greener campus.
