The Department of English of Daffodil International University organized a day long workshop titled “English for Professional Purposes” for the students of Permanent Campus on 10 October 2015. The workshop was divided into two sessions. The first session was facilitated by Ms. Liza Sharmin, Asistant Professor; Mir Md. Fazle Rabbi, Lecturer and Program coordinator; Habibur Rahman, Research Associate. The second session was conducted by the experts of Career Development Center, DIU.

It was an effective and pragmatic day for the students. The workshop started with a welcome note by Mir Md. Fazle Rabbi, Program coordinator, Department of English. In the first session, students learnt how to write cover letter, CV, maintain e-mail etiquette, and develop their presentation skills in professional arena. Mock interviews were taken in the second session. Thus students took part enthusiastically in different activities.

The programme ended with giving certificates to the participant students by Dr. A.B.M Kamal Pasha, Deputy Registrar, Permanent Campus and Mr. Syed Maruf Reza, Director, CDC. Dr. Pasha appreciated the initiative taken by the Department of English, Permanent Campus, for improving the students’ abilities to solve job related problems more efficiently.
