Guests at the seminar on "Drive your dream"
Textile Engineering department of Daffodil International University (DIU) ) and Bangladesh Textile Today jointly organized a seminar on "Drive your dream" on 21st June, 2015 at DIU Auditorium. Prof. Dr. Mahbubul Haque, Head, Department of Textile Engineering, DIU, presided over the seminar. The keynote speaker in the seminar was Mr. Md. Monowar Hossain, Country manager (Bangladesh), Barcelona, Spain. Mr. Tushar Kumar Paul, Head, Technical Cell, Apptex sourcing Ltd also delivered a technical discussion of Product development on apparel industries.
Mr. A.S.M Tareq Amin, Editor and publisher, Bangladesh Textile Today was present in the seminar as guest of honor.
Addressing the seminar, the speakers said, the textile industry provides the single source of economic growth in Bangladesh’s rapidly developing economy. Exports of textiles and garments are the principal source of foreign exchange earnings. The tremendous success of readymade garment exports from Bangladesh over the last two decades has surpassed the most optimistic expectations. Today the apparel export sector is a mufti-billion-dollar manufacturing and export industry in the country. The overall impact of the readymade garment exports is certainly one of the most significant social and economic developments in contemporary Bangladesh. With over one and a half million women workers employed in semi-skilled and skilled jobs producing clothing for exports, the development of the apparel export industry has had far-reaching implications for the society and economy of Bangladesh.
