Dr. Md. Shahjahan, Head, Department of Public Health of Daffodil International University delivering a presentation at the seminar on “Dissemination of tobacco research findings & Update Profile of the Department of Public Health” at Sapporo Dental College & Hospital in Dhaka
The Department of Public Health of Daffodil International University organized a seminar on “Dissemination of tobacco research findings & Update Profile of the Department of Public Health” at Sapporo Dental College & Hospital in Dhaka on May 14, 2015 to disseminate findings the research project titled “Use of smokeless tobacco by low socio-economic populations and risk factors associated with it” as well as to create awareness about the role of Public Health Education.
Presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, Principal of Sapporo Dental College, the seminar was addressed by Dr. Md. Shahjahan, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Public Health and Dr. A B M Alauddin Chowdhury, Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health of Daffodil International University. Vice-Principal Professor Dr. Asad uz-Zaman, Professor Muhammad Abdul Hannan, Founder Principle of Sapporo Dental College & Hospital were also present, among others. More than one hundred Internee doctors and students of the college attended the said seminar.
Dr. Md. Shahjahan, presented important findings of the above mentioned research, and Dr. A B M Alauddin Chowdhury underscored the importance and need of higher education like MPH for the dentistry professional to improve the entire public health scenario of the country.
