A discussion meeting on the book “Foundation of Human Communication” written by Sheikh Shafiul Islam and Dr. Shah Nister Kabir, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor respectively in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) of Daffodil International University was held on April 8, 2015) at the University’s Sobhanbag Campus. Eminent communication scholar and the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rahman was the key speaker in the meeting. Another prominent communication scholar of the nation Professor Dr. Sakhawat Ali Khan, Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism at the University of Dhaka and also the Advisor of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Daffodil International University was the main discussant. They focus upon many aspects of the book. Among other the Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Daffodil International University Syed Mizanur Rahman Raju, Associate Professor Ajgor Ali Chowdhury of Chittagong University, Lecturer Rafiquzzaman Ruman of Manarat International University, Senior Lecturer Dr. Md. Towfique-E-Elahi, Lecturer Muhammed Rashedul Hasan, Lecturer Quamrun Nahar of Daffodil International University and students of the University took part in the discussion.
It needs to be noted that it is the first ever book in the field of human communication written in English based on the perspective of Bangladesh.
