Prof. Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain, Department of History, University of Dhaka addressing as the chief guests at the discussion program on Independence Day-2015 held at Daffodil International University on March 26, 2015 at DIU Auditorium.

The students of Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated 45th Independence and National Day 2015 with great enthusiasm and gala events at its campus through two day long program titled “ Shadhinota Tumi”. Two day long program started when the Students of DIU staged an exceptional drama mob titled “ Je Rat Vulbar Noy” at the campus premises at 8.00pm of March 25, 2015 remembering the `Black Night’ of March 25, 1971 in memory of the brutal attack on sleeping Bangalee people and the genocide in Dhaka city by the then Pakistan Army.

Inauguration of the day long program with chanting National Anthem at campus premises 

The Main program of the Independence Day started at 8.00am on March 26, 2015 through chanting National Anthem. The programs included Independence Day Rally, Poet reciting, Discussion, drama, Photo and movie exhibition related to Liberation War.
The discussion program was presided over by Founder Vice Chancellor and Emiritus Profess Dr. Aminul Islam. Prof. Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain of History Department of University of Dhaka was present as the chief guest while Ferdousi Priovashini, War Hero of Bangladesh Liberation War was present as special guests. Mr. Takayousi Suzuki, Winner of “Friends of Liberation War Honour” and Adjunct Professor of Daffodil International University and Prof. Dr. K. M. Formuzul Haque of Nutrition and Food Engineering Department of Daffodil International University were also present as the guest of Honour. Farhana Helal Mehtab, Head, Department of Law moderated the discussion program.

Addressing as the chief guest Prof. Dr. Syed Anwar Hossain said, We got independent through war of Freedom in 1971, we got political independent, but we didn’t get freedom till today. We couldn’t free our democracy and couldn’t free ourselves from fanatical politics, communalism still fighting here, democracy is not in a good condition, He also said, after 45 years of Independence, we could not achieve the target of our desired expectations and forthis he blamed our politicians. Due to magic of the politicians, the spirit of Liberation war is losing its destination, he urged the young generation of the country to work united to regain the spirit of Liberation war and dreamed golden Bangladesh.
