The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (JMC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) organized a Freshers’ Reception and Cultural Function for the students of 12th Batch of the Department on April 19, 2011 at the university auditorium. Presided over by Mrs. Ameena Islam, Head of the department Vice Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Aminul Islam was present on the reception program as the chief guest. The function was also addressed by Professor Dr. M. Golam Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science and Prof. Dr. M. Shakhawat Ali khan, Adviser of the department and Dr. Md. Fokhray Hossain, Registrar, Daffodil International University.
They expressed their commitment to quality education, stressing the nourishment of students’ talent with extracurricular activities as well as regular syllabus-bound studies. Terming the department as a creative one the speakers urged the fresher to be devoted on practical creative works and develop their communication skills through English as the English is now not only a language but also a communication tools to fit them for global market perspective.
The program featured songs, dance, fashion show, joke, recitation and concert. The program was appreciated by all the audience and the students enjoyed the most.
