Career Development Center (CDC) of Daffodil International University (DIU) has taken an initiative to facilitate DIU graduating students to assist a guideline regarding choosing the right major during the time of major declaration, which will commencing from their 8th semester. It was a proper and unique program of CDC comparing other private and public universities to facilitate our graduate to choose the right subject as major which will improve and enhance their capacity concerning their career design especially with the 7thsemester graduates. The program was held on March 07, 2015 at DIU auditorium from 03:00 pm to 06:00 pm.
The program was divided by different sessions. Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU was attended the program as chief guest. While addressing among the students, he stressed on the importance of this kinds of program at academic level. Mr. AKM Kamruzzaman, Head of Sales TCPL (Pepsico food) & Mr. S.M Zahir Ahmed, Manager HR & Administrative, MIR Group were present as the guest speaker and focused on the event. The program was also addressed by Professor Rafiqul Islam, Dean- Faculty of Business and Economics, Mr. Mohammad Masum Iqbal, Head-Department of Business Administration Jeta Majumdar and Dewan G. Yajdani Showrav, Lecturer – Department of Business administration. The program was conducted by Mr. Syed Maruf Reza, Director, CDC.

The speakers pointed out various ideas regarding the major selection criteria at the time of declaration major of our graduates (commencing from 8th semester). Different tacticks, techniques and strategy regarding major selection process were discuss by them elaboratly. They emphasized on different features regarding career mapping process. There was a unique Theory 10:10:10 was discussed as well which was really great for the participants. They also focused some points those have the great influence regarding our student’s career and the prior criteria of starting a good career.

Students were engaged with various quarries in Questions answering session about how to select or chose a proper area as a major which reflect the right perception of each graduates according to their personality. About 200 graduating students along with some of our mentioned faculty members were participated in the said session. The session was very much interactive and effective for the students and they enjoyed the session very much. A survey regarding career mapping process was also executed by the CDC team.
