Honorable Vice Chancellor of DIU Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman exchanging MoU with Mr. Abdurahman Mohamed Hussein​, Rector from SIMAD UNIVERSITY
A MoU has been signed between Daffodil International University and SIMAD University Somalia on 29 November 2014 at the Conference Hall of DIU. In this signing ceremony The Rector from SIMAD UNIVERSITY Mr. Abdurahman Mohamed Hussein and Deputy Rector for Institutional Development, SIMAD University Mr. Dahir Hassan Abdi attended in this signing ceremony from far Somalia. Md. Sabur Khan Honorable Chairman BoT of DIU, Honorable Vice Chancellor of DIU Professor Dr. M Lutfar Rahman, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Golam Rahman, Respected Deans of the faculties, Director of International Affairs Prof. Dr. Fokhray Hossain were present in the discussion and signing ceremony. During the discussion both parties agreed to work on Faculty exchange, Student exchange, Masters program Internship opportunities in near future. Abdurahman Mohamed Hussein Rector of SIMAD University expressed his interest on DIU for Masters program for SIMAD University students as well as student exchange program in regular basis. Dahir Hassan Abdi Deputy Rector of SIMAD University pointed that in Somalia there many opportunities for us to explore in education, agriculture, business etc as the country is less populated where population ratio is 1: 10 kilometer. Mr. Md. sabur khan also discussed about the excellent entrepreneurship opportunities in Bangladesh for young generation. After the MoU signing both parties exchanged institutional souvenirs among them. This is to be mentioned that currently more then fifty Somalian students are studying in DIU and among them majority are from SIMAD University, Somalia.
