Mr. Junaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for ICT said, the goal of the present government is to build knowledge and technology based Digital Bangladesh and to implement this goal government has under taken long term “Vision 2021”. He said, 70% of our total populations are youth who are below 35 years and have strong potentiality and prosperity. To prepare this young generation to face the challenges of 21st century and build self reliant Bangladesh an individual ministry named as “Ministry of ICT” was formed by this government in 2011 to work with great attention and care. He said these while addressing as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the “Program of Creating Awareness on Mobile Applications Development and Skills at national Level” held today (January 20, 2014) Daffodil International University organized by Ministry of ICT.

ICT Minister also said, after adapting Vision 2021, for the last five years the number of internet users in the country crossed 3 crore, mobile SIM registered more than 11crore and the erecting work of the high speed Fiber Optic Cable is going on faster.

Addressing among the students he said, Students of Bangladesh are very meritorious, but lack of proper guideline and opportunity they are going abroad. He urged the young generation to build their prosperous career utilizing all these prospects of ICT provided by the government and take the responsibility of building Digital Bangladesh by 2021 and a mid income developed Bangladesh by 2041.
