The International Day of Older Persons is observed on October 1 each year. Today aging problems are becoming one of the major problems around the world. The world is faced with profound challenges associated with dramatic increases in the numbers of people living to an advanced old age. The aging of the world is viewed as natural outcome of demographic transition from high fertility and mortality to low fertility and mortality. Within the last century, the percentage of the elderly began to show an increase as medical advances allowed people to live healthier and longer lives (Samad and Faruque: 2007). Today in the developed world, the elder population amounts to almost fifteen percent. At present there are 1 corer 20 lac older persons are above 60 years. It is projected to be 4 corer in 2050. Therefore dealing old age is going to be a major concern of the community in near future. Keeping these in mind and with a view to design Social Business for older section of people, SBSF this year has observed International Day of Older Person in collaboration with Bangladesh Association for the Aged.
