To enhance the practical capabilities of the students through providing real life exposure Daffodil International University organized three day long business festival based on the theme “Business for Effective Living” from February 25-27, 2013 at university auditorium. DIU Business and Education Club and Career Development Center are jointly organizing this festival. The festival includes Young Entrepreneur Fair, Business Case Competition, Quiz Competition, Seminar, Workshop, Meet the Leaders, Essay Competition, Business Movie and Business Drama.

Mujibur Rahman, Managing Director (In-Charge) SME Foundation was present as the special guest in the opening ceremony. Mr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University and President, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) presided over the program. The program was also addressed by Prof. Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Aminul Islam, Emeritus Professor, Prof. Rafiqul Islam, Dean, Faculty of Business and Economics and Mr. Mahabub Parvez, Convener, Business Festival.
Addressing as the chief guest Professor Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque said, with the emergence of technology a revolutionary change has occurred in the field of business. Today the word “Business” not only stands for earning money but also reflects the proper utilization of resources, opportunity and time to make the living effective and works for the betterment of human kind.
He also said, the changing of the world is controlled by the business community and the role of the business men to change the civilization is very important. He urged the students to be punctual, knowledgeable, professionally skilled an overall to be patriot. He urged the students to make life not only successful, but also meaningful.
At the presidential address Mr. Md. Sabur Khan said, youths are the future dream of the country and the youth can bring any revolutionary change for the betterment of the country. For that there is no alternate of creating promising entrepreneur for the development of the country. He urged the students to prepare themselves to face the realities and challenges in coming days.
He also said, only a degree is not sufficient to hold a position in the current business world and only a degree can’t ensure a leadership position.
